About the event

This a very popular trail for cyclists on an abandoned railroad, starting in Downtown Bethesda (park in the Montgomery County parking lot on Bethesda Avenue) meet us at the beginning of the trail next to Ourisman Honda at 6.30 pm

We will start rolling downhill toward Georgetown, DC. Ride about 7-8 miles next to the Potomac River on your right, passing across some bridges and the Delecarlia Tunnel, the Roman arch brick tunnel, is 400-foot-long and built in 1910 underneath Mac Arthur Blvd. Used in the nineteenth century by Baltimore and Ohio, the first American railroad company to transport coal from Western Pennsylvania to Georgetown, DC

The entire trail is paved which is OK for any style of bike.

Enjoy beautiful scenery surrounded by thick forests and amazing views of the Potomac River.

When we arrive at Georgetown we will take some pictures at the most iconic points and relax for a little bit to recover for the return.

The return will be a little bit more challenging for our legs as it is uphill but is good training for the endurance of our muscles.

Bring snacks and plenty of water, we probably will stop a few times at the return for slower riders to catch up. The total distance will be around 17 miles at an easy to moderate pace.

All levels are welcome! Headlights are recommended No helmet, no ride! Bring water and some cash When riding with us, you agree to our Safety Policies. HAVE FUN! Invite a FRIEND!
