Bikes require professional assembly for your own safety. Disk brakes need to be aligned, wheels can get tweaked in transit, and are prone to damage. The drivetrain can have missed shifting, improperly tensioned components, and underinflated tires, leading to lost headsets and other problems, which require extra time and money to resolve.
If you are not a trained professional, do not attempt assembly yourself due to serious safety concerns!
